Lee Hawkins

About

Thanks for visiting my blog.

I’m Lee Hawkins from the Bellarine Peninsula (just out of Melbourne, Australia) and I’ve been in the IT industry since 1996 in both development and testing roles.

My passion for testing has taken me on quite a journey over the last twenty years or so. I’m an advocate of context-driven testing as I’ve seen great value in using these principles and I evangelized the wider uptake of these ideas during my long career helping Quest Software teams across the world to improve the way they build, test and deliver software.

I currently offer my experience, skills and knowledge to organizations via my testing consultancy, Dr Lee Consulting.

I’ve been lucky enough to attend Rapid Software Testing with both Michael Bolton and James Bach. I regularly attend testing conferences across the world and my first speaking gig was at Let’s Test in Stockholm in May 2014.

I co-founded the TEAM meetup group in Melbourne and co-organized the Australian Testing Days 2016 conference. I was the Program Chair for the CASTx18 testing conference in Melbourne and also co-organized Testing in Context Conference Australia 2019.

I co-founded the EPIC TestAbility Academy, a software testing training programme for young adults on the autism spectrum.

My other great passion is the rock band Status Quo. My Access All Areas site is the place to go to learn more about that passion and my labour of love is producing the best listing of all their concerts, quite a task for a band with a 50+ year history! This passion explains my Twitter handle @therockertester !
